Some degrees come with a passport
Engineering degrees accredited by ECSA fall under the Washington Accord, an agreement under which countries such as the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand recognise each other's accredited programmes.
Others stay at home
Law is tied to a country's legal system, and health professions must re-register with each country's regulator — often with further exams. Still excellent careers, but worth knowing up front.

Questions parents ask
Which grade is this for?
Grade 9 (subject choice) and Grades 11–12 (degree and university applications) are when it matters most, but any high-school year is fine. Your child is welcome to join the call.
Is this immigration advice?
No. MatricMap gives general educational and career information based on published sources. We do not give immigration, legal or financial advice, and we are not registered immigration advisers. For an individual visa application you should use a licensed adviser in the relevant country — we can explain what kind to look for.
Do you do aptitude or psychometric testing?
No — that is the work of a registered psychologist or counsellor, and it answers a different question ("what suits my child?"). We answer "where does each option lead?". The two work well together.
Are you encouraging families to leave South Africa?
No. Many of the most portable degrees are also the most valuable at home. The aim is that your child has choices — including the choice to stay.
Can you guarantee a job or a visa?
Nobody honestly can. Visa rules and job markets change, which is exactly why we show you the evidence and its sources rather than promises.
